SIGN PHOTOGRAPHY

Signs. They are everywhere in society today.

They tell us where to go, what to do, what not to do, why we need to something and for what price. Every once in a while, there is a sign that jumps out and differentiates itself from the multitudes by being funny, creative or even just plain wrong. In this category, I share the ones that I’ve come across in my travels that were worth of being photographed. I particularly like the warning signs that show stick figures seconds before a grisly death or in various states of mutilation. I always wonder how illiterate people would interpret them.

After reviewing the photos I chose for this section, it also seems that I enjoy punny names for sewing companies though I am open to other industries. The Merchant of Tennis in Toronto (no pic) still holds the crown for best named company but it was a close call with ‘Debon-hair’ for a hair salon I saw back in 2001 somewhere in South-Western Ontario.
